Ms.Shagufta Shazadi

Specialist Assessment, Monitoring & Evaluation

Shagufta Shazadi has pursued her Masters of Education with specialization in Educational Assessment Monitoring and Evaluation form the Aga Khan University-Institute for Educational Development. She also holds the master’s degree in Media and Communication Studies from the Kararakuram International University.  

Prior to joining SIPD, Ms. Shazadi was serving as an Assistant Manager Academics (assessments and evaluation) at Charter for Compassion, Pakistan. She also bears a considerable experience in classroom teaching at Aga Khan Education Services, Pakistan.

Besides affiliating with education, she served as radio announcer at Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation.

She holds expertise at research, teachers’ education, pedagogical leadership and management. She has conducted research projects, logical framework analysis, program monitoring and evaluation, and designed framework for students and teachers’ assessments. She has conducted crash courses on designing, validating and analyzing assessment, test item writing and using FACTs in classroom teaching to the public and private teachers of Sindh. She also worked on SESLOAF (Sindh Education Student Learning Outcome Framework), with the assessment experts from Sindh Bureau of Curriculum and Provincial Education Assessment Center (PEACE) Sindh.

In addition, she has highlighted current issues in educational assessment in mainstream media through two newspaper articles namely, public examination: from authentic marking to informing students’ learning and Teach to test: should teachers follow the phrase? Moreover, she presented her research study in a principals’ conference organized by the mutual collaboration of Aga Khan University-Examination Board and Oxford University press, Pakistan, entitled “Possible influence of Public examination on teaching and learning of Grades IX and X; A study from teachers’ perspectives”
